Scholarship Recipient: AJ Roen

Alexander (AJ) Roen is the son of Adam Roen and Julie Nyman. While at Rock Ridge High School, he was a member of the Knowledge Bowl. Student Council, and both the Band and Marching Band. In sports, he was active in Basketball, Football, Soccer, and Tennis. He gave time to youth basketball, youth soccer, the area food shelf, and he was a Boy Scout. During his senior year, he was a member of the High School Royal Court, captain of the soccer team, and most recently a member of the state qualifying Rock Ridge tennis team. He has attended Minnesota North Colleges’ Virginia Campus as a PSEO student, having already received his AA Degree. AJ will next attend Minnesota North Colleges’ Hibbing Campus to pursue an electrical degree and become an electrician.

AJ is the son of lodge member Adam, nephew of members Mike and Drew, and also grandson of member Kerry and wife Laurel Roen. AJ has petitioned Eveleth Masonic Lodge # 239 and has been accepted. He will become a 4th generation Mason of our Lodge, where both great-grandfathers Lyndon Adams and Donald Roen served. Congratulations, AJ, and we wish you all the best with your future plans!
