Scholarship Recipient: Ella Pecor

Ella Pecor is the daughter of Joni and Jeffrey Pecor of Colchester, Vermont. While attending Colchester High School. Ella was a Speech Team Captain, in the National Honor Society, and on the Student Council serving on subcommittees. She served on the Green Team, which helps make the school and surrounding areas more environmentally friendly for all to enjoy. She was part of the Hugh O’Brian Leadership Conference on empowering students to take initiative in their communities, and she was involved in the Governors Institute of Global Issues and Youth Action. In sports, she was in Cross Country Running, Track and Field, Basketball, and Nordic Skiing.

During Ella’s senior year, she was a member of the Speech and Debate Team at the Vermont State Meet and placed third individually there. Ella was selected to represent Colchester High School on their annual trip to Andros, Bahamas, where she will study the natural area and the culture. Ella plans to attend St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, to pursue a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and political science. She would love an opportunity to work with state legislators on environmental issues. Ella is the granddaughter of lodge member Jon McDougall and wife Leigh.
